Siddipet: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao will lay a foundation stone for the construction of Government Nursing College Siddipet at Ensanpally near Siddipet town on Wednesday. The College will be built on five acres of land by spending Rs 50 crore.

The government has sanctioned a Nursing College for Siddipet last year. The first-year classes of the nursing college will commence for the 2022-23 academic year at old MCH Hospital shortly this year. Out of the 100 BSc nursing seats allotted to the college, as many as 73 students have opted for admission to Siddipet College in the first phase. In a press statement on Tuesday, Health Minister T Harish Rao said that they have already initiated the process for inducting faculty and staff for Nursing College. Saying that the college will also be upgraded to Post Graduate level in a phased manner, Rao said that they were also planning to introduce other related courses at the College. As they were also building hostels on the campus, the Health Minister said that they have allocated 5 acres of land taking all the future needs into consideration. Rao has appointed Dr Kashinath has nodal officer to oversee the works of the Nursing College.
