GP Polls: Khammam records 88.84 percent polling, Kothagudem 86.47 in third phase
The third phase of gram panchayat elections in Telangana witnessed impressive voter participation, with Khammam district recording 88.84 per cent turnout and Kothagudem registering 86.47 per cent. Polling across multiple mandals in both districts remained peaceful, according to officials.

Khammam: District Collector Anudeep Durishetty stated that 88.84 percent of voters exercised their right to vote in the polling conducted in 168 Gram Panchayats and 1372 wards across seven mandals in the third phase of election on Wednesday.
He said that 27.45 percent polling was recorded by 9 am, 60.84 percent by 11 am and 86.65 percent by 1 pm. Voters who reached the polling stations by 1pm were allowed to cast their votes. As a result polling percentage reached 88.84 percent at the end of polling.
Out of 2,43,983 voters in Kallur, Penuballi, Sathupalli, Singareni, Tallada and Vemsur mandals, 2,16,765 voters exercised their right to vote. The polling was peaceful, the Collector said.
In Kothagudem, in the third phase of elections, polling was conducted in Allapalli, Gundala, Julurupad, Laxmidevipally, Sujathanagar, Tekulapalli and Yellandu mandals. Out of 1, 75,074 voters in the district, 1, 48,230 voters exercised their right to vote by the time polling concluded.
The Collector said that after the polling was completed 84.67 percent polling was recorded in the district. Counting of votes is underway in both the districts amid tight police security.
