Khammam Collector orders survey of Bhoodan land evictions
The State government has ordered a social and economic survey of families evicted from Bhoodan lands in Velugumatla, Khammam. District Collector Anudeep Durishetty said eligible families would be allotted plots and Indiramma houses after the survey is completed

Khammam: With pressure from the opposition mounting, the State government has launched remedial measures to address the issue of families evicted from Bhoodan lands at Velugumatla in Khammam.
District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, in a statement on Friday, said that a social and economic survey of people whose houses were removed from Bhoodan land encroachments in Velugumatla village of Khammam urban mandal on February 24 has been undertaken.
The Collector said that orders have been issued to 14 tahsildars in the district to conduct a survey of the affected people. The tahsildars have been directed to complete the survey as soon as possible.
After the completion of the social and economic survey, steps would be taken to allot residential plots and Indiramma houses to eligible people as per the government’s instructions. People whose houses were removed should be available in their respective villages and cooperate in the survey, the Collector noted.
