Warangal Urban: A special camp was organised on the premises of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) to conduct Covid tests for candidates who contested in the civic body polls, their agents and polling staff on Saturday.

Rapid Antigen Tests were conducted for over 800 persons on Saturday, while there are 1,000 (500 candidates and 500 agents) and about 1,500 counting staff.

“In view of the spurt in Covid cases in the second wave, the Election Commission has directed us to conduct the tests to the people who participate in the counting process. Some of them tested positive for the virus. Those who tested positive will be replaced with the people who have tested negative for the counting process. The counting will be held on May 3,” said a press release.
