H-FAST raids six food establishments in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy over safety violations
The H-FAST team raided six food establishments in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy, detecting violations including unhygienic conditions, reused cooking oil, artificial colours, expired products and poor sanitation. Six persons were apprehended and handed over to Food Safety Officers for further action.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) conducted raids on six food business establishments in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy on Friday as part of a special drive against food adulteration and violations of food safety norms.
The raiding teams inspected a food manufacturing and processing unit, an ice-cream manufacturing unit, two murukulu (namkeen) manufacturing units, a bakery, and a food retail establishment.
During the inspections, officials found several violations, including preparation and storage of food items under unhygienic conditions, use of reused cooking oil and artificial food colours, sale of expired and misbranded products, improper labelling, and non-display of valid FSSAI licences.
The teams also detected poor sanitation, pest infestation, improper storage of food articles, and non-use of protective gear such as hairnets and gloves by food handlers. Issues relating to lack of pest control measures, water analysis, food testing, and health records were also noticed.
During the raids, six persons were apprehended and handed over to the concerned Food Safety Officers for further action under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and other applicable laws.
