Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao held the Congress government responsible for the deteriorating economic conditions in Telangana. He stated that under Congress rule, farmers, weavers, auto drivers, and now builders are being pushed to commit suicide due to the government’s inefficient policies and failure to provide economic stability.

Harish Rao cited the tragic suicide of a builder in Medchal district, stating that Hyderabad, which flourished as a real estate hub under BRS, had now turned into a graveyard for builders due to the Congress government’s mismanagement. He blamed the collapse of the real estate sector on a series of reckless decisions, including demolition drives by HYDRAA against legally approved constructions, inconsistent announcements on Pharma City and Metro corridors, forced collection for building approvals, lack of new investments, and failing law and order.

He criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, reminding him of his past statements claiming expertise in real estate. “As a realtor, Revanth Reddy once boasted about his knowledge of real estate, but today, his misgovernance is destroying the sector,” he said. He warned that if corrective steps are not taken immediately, Telangana’ decade-long progress was at risk of a serious decline.
