Hyderabad: BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao lauded efforts to support aspiring doctors, as financial assistance cheques were distributed to seven MBBS students at his residence on Tuesday.
The financial assistance was extended by Uppal MLA Bandari Laxma Reddy under the aegis of the BLR Charitable Trust.
Harish Rao congratulated the beneficiaries and described the initiative as an investment in the future health system rather than a mere donation.
Pointing out that in the current academic year alone, 122 medical students have received financial assistance towards their education expenses, he said the primary objective was to encourage talented youth from backward communities and empower them through higher education.
The BRSLP deputy leader also said that under the leadership of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana witnessed a White Coat Revolution with the establishment of a government medical college in each district, expanding medical education and strengthening public healthcare services.
Several BRS leaders and local representatives attended the programme.
