Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his recent derogatory remarks against former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition K Chandrashekhar Rao, questioning his right to make such statements.

He charged Revanth with resorting to using provocative language instead of focusing on governance.

“Despite holding the Chief Minister’s post, his narrow mindset has not changed. Revanth says Chandrashekhar Rao has no right to live in Telangana society. Shall we ask the people who truly belong here? Does he have the courage to ask in his constituency, Kodangal, or his hometown, Kondareddypalli?” he challenged.

He warned Revanth against degrading the dignity of the Chief Minister’s position with such reckless statements.

“Your attempt to create a factional atmosphere in peaceful Telangana will fail. You will reap what you sow. But your own words will become a noose for your political career,” he remarked.

The BRS legislator said Revanth Reddy was deliberately targeting the BRS chief to stay in the headlines.

“Criticising Chandrashekhar Rao might make you relevant for a day, but the people of Telangana will always remember him, as the one who shaped the State’s history,” he said.

Taking a dig at Revanth Reddy’s stance on the caste census, Harish called it a political gimmick. He reminded that the Congress legislators themselves were questioning its accuracy.

“First, you claim the survey is correct, then you talk about a resurvey. What better proof is needed of its flaws?” he asked, adding that the people of Telangana would respond to Revanth’s remarks through democratic means.
