Harish Rao urges completion of Irkode Irrigation project in Siddipet
Former Minister T Harish Rao has urged the Telangana government to immediately complete the pending works of the Irkode Irrigation project to provide water to 17,377 acres from Mallanna Sagar. He demanded that the government fulfill its motto of “Less Funding, More Irrigation.”
Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao has urged the government to take up the leftover Irkode Irrigation project works immediately to provide irrigation water to 17,377 acres from Mallanna Sagar.
Harish Rao said that the BRS government took up the works with an aim to provide irrigation water to upland areas in Gajwel, Siddipet and Dubbak constituencies where they cannot be supplied with gravity.
The former minister said that the BRS government already completed 95 per cent of the works, but the Congress government could not complete the leftover works in the last two years.
Rao wrote a letter to Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy in this regard. He demanded that the government complete the works as part of their motto “less funding,more irrigation”.
