Hyderabad: Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Lakdikapul on Thursday announced the commencement of a free week-long consultation camp for alcohol-related liver diseases till February 24, according to a press release. The free consultation for alcohol related liver ailments will be conducted between 10 am and 3 pm by senior hepatologist and lead transplant physician, Dr. Chandan Kumar.
“Alcohol-related liver disease (ALD) is caused by damage to the liver from years of excessive drinking. Among such individuals, the inflamed and swollen liver cells lead to scarring known as cirrhosis. When the liver function starts going down, it leads to numerous complications, many of them can be life-threatening”, says Dr. Chandan Kumar.
In the free camp, patients can avail free counselling to manage their liver condition and take necessary preventive measures to avoid the severity of the problem in future, says Gaurav Khurana, CEO, Gleneagles Global Hospital, Lakdikapul.
