Kothagudem: A woman working as a mid-level health provider (MLHP) at a Primary Health Centre at Shivalingapuram in Manugurmandal in the district allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison late on Monday night.
The woman, Himabindu, in her suicide note, alleged that four ANMs, Venkatalakshmi, Nagajyoti, Alem Jyoti, and Radha, who work at the PHC, along with another person Kode Nagaraju, were harassing her mentally for the last few days and were also demanding lakhs of rupees.
Himabindu said she took the extreme step because she could not bear the harassment by the five persons.
The woman’s parents rushed her to the Government Area Hospital at Manugur and lodged a complaint with the local police.
Later in the evening, she was rushed to Khammam for better treatment as her condition turned serious.
