Hyderabad: The hearing on the disqualification petition filed by BRS MLA KP Vivekanand against Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari will be held in Speaker G Prasad Kumar’s chambers at 11 am on Wednesday.

A notice to this effect was served on Srihari on Monday by Legislative Assembly Secretary R Thirupathi. On September 20 last year, the Speaker had served notices to both Srihari and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, asking them to appear for a hearing in the disqualification petition. However, Srihari had sought time to respond to the notice.

It may be recalled that the Speaker had earlier given a clean chit to seven of the 10 MLAs who defected from the BRS to the Congress. He had stated that the seven MLAs had not defected to any party and were still associated with the BRS.

The Speaker is yet to take a decision on the disqualification petition against Jagtial MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar.
