As Taliban took control of Afghanistan capital – Kabul, a heartbreaking video of an Afghan girl expressing her despair at the world’s treatment of her country has gone viral. The video was posted by Iranian journalist and activist Masih Alinejad on Twitter.
The girl, whose identity is unknown, seems to control her tears in order to make the video. She is heard saying, “We don’t count because we were born in Afghanistan. I cannot help crying. I have to wipe my tears to be able to make this video. No one cares about us. We’ll die slowly in history. Isn’t it funny?”
Posting the video, Masih Alinejad wrote: “Tears of a hopeless Afghan girl whose future is getting shattered as the Taliban advance in the country. My heart breaks for the women of Afghanistan. The world has failed them. History will write this.”
