Heavy rains cripple daily life and coal mining in Karimnagar
Continuous rainfall since Thursday night has disrupted normal life in Karimnagar district, forcing residents indoors and affecting festive preparations. In Peddapalli’s Ramagundam region, coal production in four opencast mines was halted due to water stagnation, impacting the excavation of nearly 80,000 tonnes.

Karimnagar: Normal life paralyzed in the erstwhile Karimnagar district due to continuous rainfall since yesterday night.
People remained confined to houses following drizzling throughout the day. In the wake of festival season, the people faced troubles to go shopping and do other work.
On the other hand, coal production in opencast coal mines came to standstill due to heavy rains. Production was affected in four OCPs in Ramagundam region of Peddapalli district.
Unable to operate big machinery, management stalled production as rainwater stagnated in quarries. Excavation of about 80,000 tonnes of coal was affected.
