Heavy water flow near Himayathsagar Lake; Traffic diversions in place at ORR Exit 17
Cyberabad Police issued an advisory after heavy water flow from Himayathsagar Lake flooded the ORR service road at Exit 17. Traffic diversions have been arranged, and motorists are urged to avoid the stretch for safety.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have issued an urgent advisory to commuters following heavy water flow reported downstream of Himayathsagar Lake, which affected the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road at Exit 17.
According to police officials, the water overflow, believed to be due to high inflows into the lake from recent rains, has inundated portions of the service road, creating safety hazards for motorists. To manage the situation, traffic staff have been deployed at the location to guide and divert vehicles to alternative routes.
“Commuters are requested to strictly avoid the service roads at Exit 17 and follow the diversions arranged by our personnel to ensure safety and smooth traffic movement,” a Cyberabad Traffic Police advisory said.
The police have also cautioned two-wheeler riders and heavy vehicle drivers to be cautious when approaching the stretch, as waterlogging can cause skidding and reduced visibility of road edges.
