Hyderabad: A hidden camera phone, with its recording switched on and found by a customer in the women’s washroom of a drive-in restaurant in Jubilee Hills has led to the arrest of a worker in the eatery.
According to the Jubilee Hills police, the phone, which had its camera switched on and was recording, was found in an overhead shelf of the washroom by a woman customer in the restaurant located on Road No.10 in Jubilee Hills. Noticing that the phone camera was recording, she informed the management of the restaurant and also complained to the police.
After an initial probe, the police found that the mobile phone belonged to one of the workers at the restaurant, identified as Bongarala Banerjee, 18, a native of Nalgonda district. On questioning, the man is learned to have told the police that he had kept the phone in the washroom when he went to clean the place.
The police have booked a case under the Indian Penal Code and IT Act and arrested Banerjee. The camera had about four hours of recorded visuals, police said.
