Hyderabad: The hiring activity in the second half of 2021 (July to December) saw a big jump when compared with the first half of 2021 (January to June). According to a report by Indeed, the proportion of employers that hired during the second half jumped to 53 per cent from 44 per cent in first half.
This hiring, according to the report, mostly happened in the entry-level and junior-level candidates with 81 per cent and 66 per cent candidates hired respectively during the second half. This number stood at 69 per cent and 57 per cent respectively during the first half.
Indeed India Hiring Tracker also revealed that Covid-19 was a catalyst for the employees that pushed them to re-evaluate and re-think their professional priorities. “As many as 71 per cent of employees surveyed said they are rethinking their careers and may even see if a different career is worth pursuing,” it said.
Due to this re-evaluation has resulted in almost three out of ten employees thinking of quitting their current jobs and this thought has occurred in greater proportion among male employees (about 31 per cent) than female employees (19 per cent).
