HMWSSB raids SR Nagar, seizes illegal water motors
HMWSSB officials conducted raids in SR Nagar after residents reported illegal motors attached to taps. Seven motors were seized, and repeat offenders face Rs 5,000 fines. Residents are urged to report low-pressure water issues to the board’s customer care.

Hyderabad: The vigilance wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) conducted raids in SR Nagar and seized illegal motors.
According to a press release, some consumers were tapping the water board sources by installing illegal motors and drawing water, an activity that is illegal and led to low-pressure supply for others.
On Wednesday, in SR Nagar, residents informed water board vigilance officers about motors being attached to taps in SRT Colony. Officials inspected during water supply hours and confiscated seven motors that were found illegally attached to pipelines.
Officials said action would be taken against consumers caught attaching motors to their taps and the motors would be seized. They said that if motors were attached a second time, a fine of Rs 5,000 would be imposed and cases would be registered.
The water board said consumers facing low-pressure water supply or other issues should contact officials or call customer care number: 155313, to file a complaint.
