Home guard killed by container lorry during vehicle check in Bhongir

A home guard, Uppendar Chari (36), was fatally struck by a speeding container lorry during routine vehicle checking near Subhash Centre in Yadadri Bhongir district. Police have taken the lorry driver into custody, and the body was sent for postmortem.

Bhongir: A home guard, Uppendar Chari (36), was killed in a road accident during routine vehicle checking in Yadadri Bhongir district in the early hours of Thursday. He was fatally struck by a speeding container lorry at Subhash Centre near Ramayampet police station on Bhongir – Chityal road.

The driver of the container lorry failed to apply breaks as the vehicle rammed into the home guard resulting in his death on the spot.


Local police quickly arrived at the site, conducted an inquest and shifted the body to Ramannapet Government Hospital for postmortem examination. The lorry driver was taken into custody.
