Hyderabad: The Green India Challenge (GIC), aimed at increasing green cover is attracting everyone. The initiative started by MP J Santosh Kumar is encouraging one and all in planting saplings, watering trees, safeguarding the flora and in nurturing Mother Nature.
Delhi Public School has taken up the GIC on a large scale involving students across its various campuses. DPS Nadergul has been dedicated in producing generations of sustainably-minded, environmentally conscious people by inculcating in students the habit to make a difference, the school said.
The school has been recognised by the IGBC with a platinum award. The Telangana horticulture department has honoured DPS with Haritha Haram awards consecutively for two years and a green audit where 3,145 trees were planted in the school.
The firm belief that engaging the youth of today could protect the planet of tomorrow has led the school to wholeheartedly adopt the campaign, ‘Green India Challenge’ as it encourages one and all to plant saplings, safeguard the flora and nurture Mother Nature.
