Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Large quantities of prohibited gutkha stocks were seized from a bunker created near brick kilns on the outskirts of Chintaguda village in Kaghaznagar mandal on Thursday. The value of the stocks is yet to be assessed and details of the smuggler are not known so far.
A police team, led by ASP Balaswamy, carried out searches at the kiln and recovered the bags containing the gutkha packets secretly hidden in the bunker, following a tip off. The cops conducted raids on the kiln and found the bags in a cement structure.
The seized bags of gutkha were shifted by three tractors to Kaghaznagar police station. The police are likely to disclose details of the enforcement and produce the accused before the media by the evening. It is learned a notorious trader of Kaghaznagar constructed the bunker to hide the smuggled gutkha.
