Karimnagar: District Collector RV Karnan informed that elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of Huzurabad by-election scheduled to be held on November 2.
Collector inspected counting arrangements in SRR Degree and PG College here on Sunday. He visited auditorium hall, class rooms, and indoor stadium and examined arrangements to store EVMs and VVPATs after election as well as counting.
He discussed arrangements with Additional Collectors GV Shyamprasad Lal and Garima Agarwal and instructed police officials to arrange tight security at strong rooms wherein EVMs and VVPATs were stored.
Karnan examined the reception center, furniture arranged for counting, CC cameras, barricades, tents and lighting arrangements. He instructed officials to close one side of Karimnagar-Jagtial main road in front of SRR College.
He examined arrangements made to give training to counting assistants, counting observers, and counting supervisors in college grounds. Counting tables, chairs, iron mess and barricades arranged in two counting centers were also examined.
Collector instructed officials to make arrangements and precautionary measures to be taken.
