Hyderabad: 18-year-old newlywed ends life in Kukatpally after mother’s scolding
An 18-year-old newlywed, Ramya, died by suicide at her home in Kukatpally after being scolded by her mother for using her phone. Married three months ago, she hanged herself at her parents’ residence. Police have registered a case.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old newlywed woman died by suicide allegedly after being scolded by her mother at her house in Kukatpally on Tuesday.
The young woman identified as Ramya (18), the eldest daughter of Janaki Rao and Tulasi of Yadav Basti in Moosapet was married three months ago to Ashok, a poclain driver. The couple had been staying at Ramya’s parental home since the wedding.
On Tuesday , Ramya accompanied her mother to the local market. Later, noticing her daughter spending more time on the mobile phone, Tulasi allegedly chided her, and advised her to focus on household responsibilities as a married woman rather than being on the phone constantly.
Upset over the scolding, on returning home, Ramya locked herself inside her room and hanged from the ceiling fan.
Based on Tulasi’s complaint, the Kukatpally police registered a case and are investigaing.
