Hyderabad: 52nd Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh delights audiences with stellar performances

Hyderabad: The 52nd annual Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh, organized by the Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation at Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Kondapur main road, Madhapur, continues to enchant music and dance enthusiasts with its stellar lineup of artists.
The second day of the Sangeet Samaroh presented a rich blend of traditional art forms featuring celebrated performers in Pakhawaj, Bharat Natyam, and Carnatic vocal music featuring Shobhana’s Bharatanatyam Performance and Abhishek Raghuram’s Carnatic Vocal Recital.
The evening began with Padma Shri awardee and National award-winning actress Shobhana who took the stage with a spellbinding Bharatanatyam performance along with a soul-stirring Carnatic vocal recital by Abhishek Raghuram.
Known for her innovative choreography and deep understanding of classical dance, Shobhana seamlessly weaves tradition and modernity in her performances, leaving the audience captivated. Abhishek’s mastery over intricate ragas and his emotive renditions make him one of the most sought-after Carnatic vocalists of his generation.
Later, the music festival featured the mesmerizing Pakhawaj duet by Rishi Shankar Upadhyay and Mahima Upadhyay. Mahima, often called the Pakhawaj Queen, is a 15th-generation artist from the illustrious Pt. Vasudev Upadhyay Pakhawaj Parampara, bringing unmatched energy and grace to her performances. Accompanying her was the talented Rishi, a 13th-generation maestro from the same tradition, who embodies the profound legacy of his family’s 400-year-old musical heritage, a press release said.
Speaking about the event, Durga Jasraj said, “The performances on the second day beautifully showcased the confluence of rhythm, melody, and expression, honouring the legacy of Pt Motiram, Pt Maniram and of course Pandit Jasraj ji. We are very pleased to see such a response from the people of Hyderabad”.
