Hyderabad: In an effort to bring down healthcare costs, city-based Flip Health has launched an artificial intelligence system that will aid in diagnosis as well as offer teleconsultation with doctors through smartphones. With data fed to it, it can diagnose over 300 diseases. The platform offers its services at Rs 100 per month.
“We are addressing the issue of accessibility and costs. People find most of the healthcare systems are unsustainable where healthcare, fitness, and nutrition must be paid for individually and are expensive,” said Vishnu Gangasani, CEO, Flip Health.
Flip Health has 15 doctors across specialities except for cardiology and neurology on company rolls just like other private healthcare service providers.
Every doctor gets an average of 30 consultations per day. They are required to log in for at least six hours. Now, the services are offered from 9 to 9 and plans are on to make them available 24/7.
“We are a subscription-based medical services provider and not a marketplace or an aggregator. For Rs 100 a month, we provide unlimited consultations across specialities from the available pool of doctors. Subscribers also get access to tools to monitor BP, SPO2, respiration rate etc,” he said.
“The AI system will ask about primary and secondary symptoms, duration, and frequency of suffering. It can diagnose over 300 diseases by assessing more than 600 symptoms with a success rate of 98 per cent. It will diagnose, triage, and send the results to doctors. With us, there is no need for the patients to travel physically anywhere. There is no waiting for hours nor there is a need for paying a high fee,” explained Gangasani.
At present, the company has more than 6,000 subscribers in the two Telugu states. “We are expanding as we want to make this available to as many people as possible,” he added.
A team from the US worked with many local colleges on the data that is fed to the AI system. The app also takes Covid situation into account. “If you tell the symptoms, it will tell if the risk level is low, medium or high and also suggest if RTPCR test is needed,” he said.
