Hyderabad begins month-long electoral roll revision drive with three BLO visits
The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has begun in Hyderabad district and will continue until July 24. Booth Level Officers will make three household visits, while voters can verify records, update addresses, submit forms online, and seek assistance through helplines.
BLOs distributed enumeration forms during door-to-door visits.
Hyderabad: The month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls commenced in Hyderabad district on Thursday with a provision of three visits by the assigned officials to ensure that a house that is locked or an individual voter is not present during a visit, is not missed from the exercise.
The SIR is scheduled to go on till July 24, and an elector need not worry if the house is locked or the voter is not present during the first door-to-door visit of Booth Level Officer (BLO), for the assigned officer will visit every household at least three times to distribute and collect the filled Enumeration Forms.
If the elector is found not enrolled during SIR-2002 rolls:
An elector who may not have enrolled during the 2002 SIR rolls can now try to retrieve the elector details of his/her parents/grandparents, and their details can be filled in the Enumeration Form in the respective column. For this, the elector can seek the BLO’s help to identify the appropriate details.
Electors can check if their names already exist in the 2002-SIR electoral rolls by visiting the official website: https://ceotelangana.nic.in or https://voters.eci.govi.in and using the ‘Search by Electors details’ option. Also, a printed hard copy of the electoral rolls of 2002-SIR is available with the BLOs, and they will assist in finding out the elector’s name.
Change of Address:
Electors who have changed their address on moving their residence can apply in Form-8 to the ERO and update the new address. The forms would be processed during the Claims and Objections period, from July 31 to August 30, with changes reflected in the final roll.
If an eligible elector is not available at his house or is abroad, any adult family member could, on behalf of the elector, fill out and sign the Enumeration Form and submit it to the BLO for inclusion in the final rolls.
Electors must keep ready certain key documents for proof of identity, such as Aadhaar Card/ EPIC (Voter ID Card)/ Indian Passport/ driving licence/ and PAN Card. For proof of address, the elector should keep ready the electricity bill/ration card/ bank passbook/rent agreement, and for date of birth proof, birth certificate/school certificate/Indian Passport, and a recent passport-size photo.
