Hyderabad: BJP lodges complaint against singer Mangli

In the complaint, they said some lyrics in her recently released Bonalu song about the deity were much derogatory and hurt their religious sentiments

Hyderabad: A delegation of BJP leaders on Tuesday met Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat and lodged a complaint against Telugu singer Mangli alleging the lyrics in her recently released Bonalu song ‘Chettu Kinda Kusunavamma’ were derogatory.

In the complaint, they said some lyrics in the song about the deity were much derogatory and hurt their religious sentiments. No case has been booked yet with the complaint being verified.

The song, released on July 11, became an instant hit on social media. While some enjoyed it, some others trolled the singer and also demanded an apology.
