Hyderabad: Residents of Hyderabad woke up to a thick blanket of fog that enveloped almost the entire city, from core areas to the outskirts, on Friday.

While minimum temperatures remained chilly, heavy dense fog blanketed almost all parts of Hyderabad, especially in the Northern and Eastern parts including Peerzadiguda-Medipally, Nagaram, ECIL, Nacharam, Uppal, Vanasthalipuram, LB Nagar, Thumkunta-Shamirpet main road and Kompally highway of Hyderabad.

Similar reports of zero road visibility due to extensive fog have been reported by people from Adibatla, Ibrahimpatnam, Pocharam and regions in and around Pocharam on Friday.

Seasoned weather forecaster from Hyderabad, T Balaji, well known for his short and long-term weather predictions on social media platform X, posted “Enjoy the last leg of winter as long as it lasts in Hyderabad and elsewhere. After this spell, we are anticipating temperatures (heat) to rise from the first week of February itself”.

Here is Balaji’s post.

A large number of early morning walkers and office goers shared pictures of extensive fog cover across various parts of Hyderabad.

On its part, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD-Hyderabad) forecast said “Fog/Misty conditions are very likely to prevail during morning hours at isolated pockets over Telangana during next 5 days. Minimum temperatures are likely to be normal during the next 3 days over Telangana”.
