Chilkur Balaji temple head priest CS Rangarajan with former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
Hyderabad: Chilkur temple priest, CS Rangarajan met the former Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu and after handing over the blessings of Chilkur Balaji sesha vastram, briefed him about the status of Deity Rights Movement and sought his support for the same.
Rangarajan briefed the former Vice President that constitutional oath in the name of god does not require one to worship deities. All are free to follow their religions but it does bind them to protect deity interest to ensure deity worship is not eradicated in this ancient sacred unpartitioned land of Shri Rama and Land of Dharma.
A person is free to follow any religion or not follow any religion but if he desires to eradicate deity worship, he cannot hold constitutional post as he is disqualified from taking above constitutional oath in the name of god, Rangarajan said.
The former Vice President assured all help in his capacity.
