Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner CV Anand on Monday visited the Hyderabad Central Crime Station and reviewed the cases under investigation.

In a meeting with officials, the Commissioner asked them to stress on timely investigation and disposal of the cases to minimize pendency. With regard to narcotics cases, he felt there was an urgent need for more efficient investigation. The department would impart training to a few police personnel from every police station to effectively investigate narcotics cases.

“The rise in cybercrime and economic offences should be dealt effectively by reorganizing our crime control and investigation strategies. Tools and technologies should be extensively used to trace suspects and apprehend them,” he said, also instructing senior officials that CCS personnel should not be assigned other duties unless urgent and assured that the CCS will be given due importance in allotment of resources and vehicles.

“Zonal crime teams will be formed soon and the entire required infrastructure will be provided. We will enhance police visibility on the ground,” he added.

Additional CP (Crimes) AR Srinivas and Joint CP (CCS) Gajarao Bhupal were present.
