Hyderabad CP holds meeting with Central Peace Committee to discuss sensitive religious issues

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand held an interaction with the Central Peace and Welfare Committee from all zones of the city to discuss recent sensitive religious issues in the city.

Vikram Singh Mann, Additional CP, L&O, Hyderabad and Chairman of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee; P Viswa Prasad, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad; other officials and 350 members of the peace committee participated in the meeting.


Unanimously condemning any disturbances caused by certain individuals, the participants emphasised the necessity for respectful dialogue among communities. A commitment was made to enhance communication channels between communities and law enforcement to ensure prompt and effective resolution of grievances.

Additionally, plans were proposed for community engagement initiatives aimed at fostering understanding and cooperation among different religious groups. The committee highlighted the importance of preventive measures, including educational programmes designed to promote tolerance and respect for diversity.

They also discussed strategies to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of misinformation and rumors that can escalate tensions within the community
