Hyderabad Cricket Association bans cricketer for age fraud

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) informed on Monday that M Ram Charan Markatta, a registered cricketer, has been banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after allegedly committing “age fraud” and is barred from participating in any cricketing activities conducted under the aegis of the BCCI or its affiliated State Associations.
The ban is effective for two years, concluding on 28 December 2027, as communicated by the BCCI to all concerned stakeholders.
The HCA clarified that, in accordance with BCCI regulations, upon completion of the ban period, the player shall be eligible to participate only in senior cricket, subject to fulfillment of all applicable rules, regulations and eligibility criteria prescribed by the BCCI at that time.
“The Hyderabad Cricket Association is bound to implement and comply with all directives, disciplinary actions and regulations issued by the BCCI in the interest of maintaining the integrity, discipline and governance standards of the game,” according to a media release.
