Hyderabad: A serious objection was raised by a member of the Hyderabad Cricket Association in a letter to Mr A.K. Joti, Electoral Officer of the BCCI General Elections (2025), regarding the in-charge president of HCA, Daljeet Singh, being nominated as its representative.
“We, the members, and also the commoners hereby lodge this formal objection under the provisions of the Election Schedule with respect to the Draft Electoral Roll (dated 13th September 2025). The said Roll has shown Sardar Daljeet Singh as the nominated representative of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA),” the letter pointed out.
“This entry is unauthorised, contrary to the Memorandum of Association and Rules of the HCA, and in clear violation of judicial directions placing the HCA under the Supervisory Committee headed by Hon’ble Justice P. Naveen Rao (Retd.),” it was mentioned in the letter.
The grounds of objection raised include the lack of authorisation by the General Body of the HCA according to HCA Memorandum (2018) Rule 8 (j) and that no such meeting or resolution has been held authorising Daljeet Singh to be included in the draft roll for the BCCI elections.
“By virtue of the High Court’s directions, HCA is under the administration of the Supervisory Committee chaired by Justice P. Naveen Rao (Retd.). Consequently, only this Supervisory Committee is competent to nominate a representative to the BCCI. An ‘acting President’ has no such authority,” it was pointed out in the letter.
“The nomination of Sardar Daljeet Singh is unsupported by lawful authority or documentation and is therefore procedurally defective and void ab initio. It is respectfully submitted that, under the HCA Constitution, the authority to appoint a representative to the BCCI rests exclusively with the General Body, acting through a resolution passed at an AGM or SGM. In the present case, no such resolution exists,” the official complained in the letter.
