Hyderabad: The curtains are down for the All India Industrial Exhibition popularly known as Numaish, the 46 day annual fair of the city. It culminated on Sunday, the 46 th day.
Organized at the Numaish Grounds, located at Nampally, the event saw participation of around 1050 traders from across the country showcasing their products. Visitors can select from a wide range of goods such as readymade clothes, handicrafts, footwear, imitation jewellery, cosmetics, dry fruits, home furnishings, furniture, electronic items etc.
A few lakh people have visited the annual fair since it was inaugurated on January 1. The rush was high during the weekends with families dropping to the ‘must visit’ event of the year in the city.

On Monday, after the closure of the event, people dropped in to purchase the goods sold at throwaway prices by the traders. “We are selling it at the cost price to customers. We don’t want to spend any money on transporting and storing the merchandise elsewhere,” said Syed Qasim, a trader.
The stall owners dumped the goods in front of the stalls to attract people who were thronging the place to make the most of the opportunity. “I study in a college at Nampally. On coming to know that the handbags are sold at a very low price, I dropped in with my friends. I could buy a bag at a really cheap price,” said Syeda Lubna, a university student.
