Hyderabad Cybercrime cops help refund Rs 62 lakh to victims in February
Based on the complaints, the Cybercrime Police booked cases and followed it up with the banks concerned and ensured the money was ‘Put on Hold'

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime police have facilitated in refund of a total amount of Rs 62.4 lakh belonging to the victims of cyber frauds in 16 different cases during the month of February.
Of the 16 cases, 8 were related to stock trade and investment, 6 cases related to money laundering, 1 loan fraud case and 1 impersonation case. While Rs 12.1 lakh was lost to investment fraud, Rs 47.8 lakh was lost to money laundering frauds, and Rs 1.2 lakh each to loan fraud and impersonation fraud.
Based on the complaints, the Cybercrime Police booked cases and followed it up with the banks concerned and ensured the money was ‘Put on Hold’. Further, the police guided the fraud victims through court process.
Based on the refund orders passed by a local court, the banks refunded the amount into the victim’s accounts.
