Hyderabad endures gloomy skies, persistent rain as damp and overcast conditions continue
Hyderabad and its surrounding districts continued to experience persistent rainfall and overcast skies on Thursday. The IMD forecasts that this damp weather will persist until Sunday. Rainfall peaked at 38.8 mm in Quthbullapur, with average GHMC rainfall above normal.

Hyderabad: Persistent and continuous rain, accompanied by damp weather and overcast conditions, interspersed by spells of moderate rain, continued to prevail in Hyderabad and its neighboring districts of Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, and Sangareddy districts.
These inclement weather conditions featuring dark, cloudy skies with occasional light rain or drizzle, are expected to continue until Sunday, according to the Hyderabad MET department’s forecast issued on Thursday morning.
Between 8:30 AM on Wednesday and 8:30 AM on Thursday, the highest rainfall of 38.8 mm was recorded at the Gayatri Nagar ward office in Quthbullapur. This was closely followed by ESS Qutbullapur and ESS HMT Hills at Hydernagar in Kukatpally at 38 mm. The GHMC ward office in Mahadevapuram, Quthbullapur recorded 37.5 mm of rainfall. All these locations are within the Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Banjara Hills in Shaikpet received 3 mm, JPN Nagar community hall in Miyapur, Serilingampally in Rangareddy district, recorded 33.8 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.
The GHMC average rainfall for the day (between Wednesday and Thursday) was 21.7 mm, significantly higher than the normal of 6.3 mm, the rainfall data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS), indicated.
Thanks to the cloudy skies, the maximum daytime temperatures also dipped, with RC Puram in Sangareddy district recording 28.8 degree Celsius. Minimum temperatures hovered between 19 degree Celsius and 21 degree Celsius.
