Hyderabad: Food safety violations at central production unit of Sodexo reported

Hyderabad: Multiple food safety violations under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 have been reported at the Central production unit of Sodexo India Services Pvt Ltd, Hitec City, Kondapur by the teams of Commissioner of Food Safety.

At the Central Production Unit of Sodexo India Services Pvt Ltd, the food safety teams reported house fly infestation of raw material in the reception area, food articles were left uncovered in the kitchen, blood from packed raw meat was dripping in the chiller room and food waste was accumulated at several places in the kitchen drains.

Packets of paneer weighing 16 kilograms which did not have the proper visible date of package were detected and discarded.

Some of the other food safety violations detected by the inspecting teams include food articles kept in plastic trays stored on floor in cold storage, flooring was found patchy at some places in the kitchen and grinding area, the flooring was wet due to littering of food waste in the grinding area and there was no proper gap left between the wall and storage racks to ensure cleaning.
