Hyderabad: Customs officials along with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sleuths seized foreign currency equivalent to Rs 1.13 crore allegedly being smuggled out of the country via the RGI Airport on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip off, law enforcement agencies checked a passenger’s baggage and found packets of savouries, in which currency of various countries was concealed.
The money was seized and the passenger was detained for questioning. The amount was allegedly being smuggled to Dubai from the city by a syndicate, officials said.
