Acting on a tip off, law enforcement agencies checked a passenger's baggage and found packets of savouries, in which currency of various countries was concealed
One of the central armed police forces in India, the CISF was set up in 1969 and is tasked with the security of vital government and industrial buildings.
Based on suspicion, CISF personnel had checked the passenger’s bag with the help of a scanning machine and found the sandalwood logs weighing 5.7 kg. The passenger was later handed over to the Customs wing for further investigation.
The drill was conducted at the western departure ramp of the airport, involving key airport stakeholders including Octopus, an elite Anti-Terrorist Squad, local police among others.
"About 11,000 candidates had initially applied and gone through the physical tests. Out of these, 5,151 male and 438 female shortlisted candidates have appeared for the written test today."
