Hyderabad: Foundation stone laid for Bharosa centre at Zehra Nagar

Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Ali said the government was paying special attention to law and order in the State

Hyderabad: Foundation stone laid for Bharosa centre at Zehra Nagar
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali laid foundation stone for Bharosa Support Centre for women and children at Zehra Nagar along with MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad CP Anjani Kumar, Swati Lakra IPS and other dignitaries here on Sunday.

Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Sunday laid the foundation stone for construction of Bharosa Centre building at Zehra Nagar in the old city. This will be the second Bharosa Centre in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Ali said the government was paying special attention to law and order in the State. “Telangana stands as a role model for the country. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s main priority is safety of women in the State and several initiatives are being taken up by the government for the safety and security of the women,” he said.


City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the Bharosa Centre was being constructed as part of the Safe City project of the Telangana government. “The Telangana government also started the initiative of She Teams to provide security to women and to assist them in case of any problems. In the last few years, due to through the efforts of the Bharosa Centre at Saifabad, a conviction rate of 60 per cent was achieved in cases of crime against women,” he said.

Shikha Goel, Additional Commissioner (Crimes) was also present.
