PM Modi is set to unveil and initiate a total of 44 projects aimed at transforming both urban and rural infrastructure in the region. These projects are expected to significantly enhance public amenities, improve connectivity, and modernise essential services for the people of Varanasi.
The BRS government had granted administrative approval to upgrade the 20-bed hospital to a 100-bed facility, with an allocation of Rs 29 crore. However, construction has been stalled, and the hospital is still functioning with only four out of the 16 sanctioned doctors. Despite assurances from ministers that civil works would be completed promptly, the ongoing delay has left the local community frustrated.
Minister Niranjan Reddy said the R&R centre is coming on 63 acres and plots have already been developed in 50 acres where amenities would be provided at a cost of over Rs 27 crore
The project envisages a new triangular Parliament building, with a seating capacity of up to 1,200 MPs. The project is estimated to be constructed by August 2022, when the country will celebrate its 75th Independence Day.
The new Parliament building will have a seating capacity for 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 384 members in Rajya Sabha as against the present 543 members and 245 members respectively.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla aid the new building will be earthquake resistant and 2000 people will be directly involved in the construction of the new building and 9,000 indirectly.
