Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa) has deployed 51 disaster response force teams, 21 bike-borne teams and 394 expert swimmers for Ganesh idol immersions across Hyderabad on September 25 and 26.
The arrangements cover 103 lakes in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) comprising the GHMC, CMC and MMC limits. Immersions are scheduled for September 25 across the three civic bodies.
Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath reviewed the arrangements and instructed officials to keep trained swimmers on standby, prioritising devotee safety. Swimmers will be stationed at Durgam Cheruvu, IDL Cheruvu, Malkam Cheruvu, Gangaram Cheruvu, Lingam Cheruvu and Dundigal Pedda Cheruvu.
At Hussain Sagar, 50 expert swimmers will be deployed during each shift. Six Hydraa-owned boats will supplement boats provided by Tourism Department. The Hydraa is also trimming tree branches along procession routes to facilitate idol transportation to pandals and coordinating with officials of the three civic bodies during the immersion festivities, it added.
