“They looked for a person similar to the genuine land owner in the sale deed and created fake Aadhar cards by impersonation. They then got the land registered illegally. Using it, they also created land disputes between parties and demand money to settle them or grab the land,” Bhagwat said.
Recently, the gang created fake documents of a vacant land at Cherlapally on the city outskirts, belonging to one G.Kondal Rao. They fixed a deal with one Yadagiri, the complainant to sell the land for Rs.47.9 lakh and collected an advance of Rs.8 lakh, with a condition to pay the remaining amount at the time of registration.
At the time of agreement of sale, the suspects informed the complainant that it was genuine land but cheated him.
Officials said land documents pertaining to Banjara Hills, Kondapur, Madhapur Ayyappa Society, RC Puram, Malakpet and Thurkayamjal were also found. Their authenticity was being verified.
