Hyderabad: This Sunday, get ready for some scintillating Garba and Dandiya on the bund road abutting the Hussain Sagar in the heart of the city.
In tune with the ongoing Navaratri and Dasara festivities, the activities lined up as part of the Sunday-Funday event at Tank Bund promise to come up with some memorable festive moments. Elaborate arrangements were being made for Bathukamma festivities and the bund will also play host to Garba and Dandiya performances with a laser show and fireworks.
As on earlier Sundays, a traffic-free Tank Bund will also have shopping, games and eateries. For Bathukamma festivities, separate bays and a stage with decoration will be set up on the Tank Bund while multiple beautifully made traditional Bathukammas will be placed along the road which will be a major attraction for visitors.
Garba and Dandiya performances by professional artistes will also be on display and separate stalls selling Dandiya sticks are planned for people who would like to pose or even dance with the artistes. The Laser Show will have three shows of 15 minutes and like last week, a fireworks show will be for up to three minutes.
With more than 20,000 saplings distributed for free last time, the Urban Forestry wing of HMDA will again be setting up stalls for free distribution of more than 30 species of saplings. The She Teams from the State police will also be present spreading awareness among the public through various activities and the TS Prisons Department will also be putting up a stall this time. A caravan by the Tourism department is also lined up.
