Hyderabad: Animal volunteers of the Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA) rescued eight cobras from individuals who were displaying them by keeping them in crates at Sri Yellamma Thali Devalayam, Suramgutta, in Adibatla police station limits.
Almost after two-weeks of Nagpanchami, snake charmers and their family members continued to display snakes. “We went to the location and took help from local police officials from Adibatla police station and managed to rescue eight cobra snakes, which were defanged and totally dehydrated,” GHSPCA Coordinator, Soudharma Bhandari.
All the cobras are now undergoing treatment by Dr Vishwa Chaitanya. The GHSPCA thanked DCP and Adibatla Inspector for playing an important role in rescuing snakes along with volunteers Praful Jain, Star, Faraz, Tillu and Piyush.
