Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), conducted a special drive against food safety violations at fast food centres in Chandrayangutta on Thursday. The inspections were carried out in coordination with the Food Safety Officer of GHMC to prevent food adulteration and ensure public health standards.
During the drive, officials inspected Al-Madina Chinese Fast Food Center and Omer Chinese Fast Food Center in Chandrayangutta. Two cases were registered and three persons were apprehended for alleged violations.
Officials found several violations, including preparation of food under unhygienic conditions, use of reused cooking oil and artificial food colours, absence of pest control records and failure to maintain prescribed hygiene standards.
The H-FAST team seized around 20 litres of reused cooking oil, 10 litres of fresh cooking oil, nearly 40 kg each of fried chicken and raw coloured chicken. Artificial and synthetic food colours packed in three boxes and six packets were also seized.
The seized material was handed over to the SHO of Chandrayangutta Police Station for further legal action.
