Hyderabad: The Hare Krishna Golden Temple celebrated the Govardhan Puja and Annakutotsavam by making a replica of the Govardhan Hill (Annakuta) using 400 kg of pure vegetarian cake, cookies, sweets, juices, fruits and flowers. The hill had various kundas (ponds) and the programme began by offering Krishna Prasadam to cows and calfs in the morning, a press release said.
In the evening, kirtans followed by a Pravachan by Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji depicting the importance of Govardhana Lila was held. The devotees witnessed Aarti followed by Kartika Deepotsavam and Damodara Arati and they were given an opportunity to offer ghee lamps and do a parikrama of the hill.
The festivities were held with strict adherence to Covid regulations issued by the government that included mandatory mask, thermal temperature check, social distancing measures and sanitizing arrangements.
