Hyderabad: The Madhuranagar Police have arrested a house owner for allegedly installing a hidden surveillance camera inside a bathroom used by his tenants in Yousufguda.
The suspect identified as Ashok, was taken into custody on Thursday, while his aide, electrician Chintu, is currently absconding.
According to police, a couple was residing on rent in Ashok’s house located at Jawaharnagar, Yousufguda. When the bathroom light stopped working recently, they informed the owner.
On October 4, Ashok and electrician Chintu replaced the bulb but allegedly concealed a CCTV camera inside the bulb holder.
The tenants discovered the device on October 13 and immediately confronted the owner.
In a bid to destroy evidence, Ashok replaced the bulb and threatened the couple not to approach the police, warning that the electrician might retaliate.
Based on the complaint lodged by the tenants, police registered a case and arrested Ashok. Efforts are on to nab Chintu.
