Hyderabad: An intermediate student was found dead in her hostel room located on Sri Gayatri Junior College campus in Bachupally on Wednesday.

While the police are investigating it as a suicide, the victim’s family alleged she was killed.

As per available information, Poojitha (16), an intermediate second year student, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the hostel in the morning.

Her parents alleged that although Poojitha had died in the morning, the college management kept it a secret without informing them even till afternoon. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital and the parents were not informed immediately, they said.

They further alleged negligence on part of the college management saying they had once told that the teen had slipped and fell down in the bathroom and she was admitted to the hospital. Later, they said she had died by suicide, raising suspicion on them.

The family members expressed their concern and also demanded justice.

The Bachupally police are investigating.
