Hyderabad: Faced with displacement from the State government’s Gandhi Sarovar Project and desperate to save their dream dwellings achieved through hard-earned money, residents of Madhu Park Ridge are gearing up for a legal battle.
Residents whose properties are likely to be affected as part of the project are contemplating uniting to fight to protect their properties. Residents said they are preparing to highlight the impact of the project on their land and homes, and are exploring legal options to prevent or limit any acquisition or related action.
Angered residents of A and B Blocks of Madhu Park Ridge told Telangana Today that they were not willing to move or shift their base from the area. Resident after resident recounted how they overcame odds, struggled hard and achieved the dream of a dwelling to call their own.
Residents plainly rejected the possible proposal from the State government to relocate them and said they would not budge from the premises and the community with which they have developed strong ties. Any attempt to forcibly remove them, they said, would be vehemently opposed.
Some residents expressed their frustration over the Congress government’s decision and said that in the name of ‘Buffer Zone’, officials are trying to grab their properties. “We have been spending sleepless nights since Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the project,” a resident said.
